Eaon Pritchard has joined Moula as Head of Brand and Communications, marking a departure from adland, and a leap into the world of fintech.
Pritchard brings 25 years’ experience to the role, honed through leading creative, digital and media agencies in both Australia and the UK.
“I’ve changed industries, but the mission is still the same – after 25 or so years of helping brands grow through advertising, I’ll now be helping good businesses grow through smarter funding and payments products,” he said.
Pritchard was initially attracted to the opportunity to practice evidence-based marketing at an ‘exciting creative company’ working across fast-scaling finance categories.
He drew a parallel between the pace of agency environments and the culture of innovation at Moula.
“Moula addresses challenges and opportunities with a ‘heads and hearts’ approach, which is at the crux of evidence-based marketing,” said Pritchard.
“There’s a real engine behind the business, driven in equal measure by good people and clever tech.
“The intensity and pace at Moula is a bit like how agencies used to be. And we have a roadmap of product and service innovation that will get done, rather than just talked about.”
Prior to joining Moula, Pritchard was Head of Strategy at Australia’s most awarded media agency, Universal McCann (UM), before breaking out on his own with ArtScienceTechnology.
He was brought out to Australia by Clemenger BBDO as a Director of Digital Innovation in 2010, and spent much of the following decade driving digital strategy at BWM Dentsu, and leading the Government team at Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific.
He is also the author of two bestselling books on the challenges facing brands in the digital era, Where Did It All Go Wrong? from 2018, Shot By Both Sides from 2020, and was a contributing author to the APG textbook Eat Your Greens. Eaon will be speaking on the Ideas and Innovation stage at this year’s Mumbrella360 Reimagined in July.
Founded in 2013, Moula is committed to backing good business with finance solutions across lending and payments. Moula’s proprietary platform empowers Australian SMEs to access finance on better terms.
